HAPPY HOMEMAKER & MENU PLAN MONDAY 11-28-2016

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving. We had a VERY small Thanksgiving, but it was good.

Now it's time to go into full on Christmas prep! I did get Frosty and Rudolph out by the front door yesterday. We're celebrating Christmas early with my mom on the 10th, on actual Christmas with just us and then again on the 27th with other family - I LOVE celebrating ALL month long!
OUTSIDE MY WINDOW & THE WEATHER OUTSIDE
Absolutely beautiful. NOT! It was supposed to be a great week, but we woke up to wind and a severe thunderstorm.

ON THE BREAKFAST PLATE
Leftover Quiche Lorraine and coffee

HOMEMAKING/COOKING TIP

ON MY MIND
  • Praying for peace for my mom as she lost her brother and my aunt Johanna as she is grieving my uncle's passing last Friday. Mom was able to make it there in time to see him which I know was a blessing to her. Grateful that my uncle did not suffer for very long and his gentle passing.
THINGS THAT ARE MAKING ME HAPPY
  • The holidays being upon us with all the baking and goodies
  • Chore list getting smaller (at least on the inside) of the house
FAVORITE PHOTO FROM THE CAMERA
It's that time of year again.  I'm doing twin elves this year for my "nieces and nephew".  Ralph and Walter here will arrive in their Christmas box for mom to do what she will on Christmas morning.
I'm so glad we did just a turkey breast for Thanksgiving.  It turned out gorgeous with my new apple cider brine and was the perfect amount of leftovers.

  3. I am so very sorry for the loss of your Uncle. Your turkey breast looks perfect. That's the one thing about traveling for the holidays, not too many leftovers. Sometimes a good thing and sometimes not. Hope you have a great week!

    1. Thank you so much for your sympathy. LOL the turkey breast worked out perfect! I'm using the last of it tonight to make some tetrazinni for dinner. Have a great week!

  4. Sounds like it was a lovely Thanksgiving! Now on to holiday festivities! I love all of your elves mischief on instagram. Lol ;)

Your menu sounds yummy like always. I'm intrigued by moscato chicken as moscato is one of my fave wines! Mmmmm

Prayers to your Mom and all of your family. It's so hard to lose loved ones, but especially at this time of year in my opinion. Blessings to All.

Hope you have a great rest of the week my dear Tamy! xoxo

    1. Aw thank you. When we left Oregon last year my munchkins were most upset that we'd miss Christmas so their mom and I came up with this idea that the elves are helping out here before joining the cousin elf in Oregon. I slipped Sam in their Christmas box last year and then I'll do the same with Ralph and Walter this year. I do believe this may be our last year though, Ethan is on the verge of knowing the "truth" so to speak.

I do believe you are right, it is so much harder to lose someone when there are holidays involved.

I do hope you enjoy the Moscato chicken. It is so yummy! It is also my favorite wine.
